Viva Las Vegas

Well, our four-year anniversary just flew by in a blur of flashing lights and rhinestones. We just got back from four days in Las Vegas and time really does fly when you're having fun! Here are some of the highlights of our trip.
Day One
  • arrived in Las Vegas, got ripped off by cab driver, checked in, got smoky room (bad start)
  • checked in to better room with better view--we're happy now
  • lunch at Grand Lux Cafe at the Ventetian--saw human statues and gondola singers
  • hung out at pool--John got tiger stripe tan! (see photo in album--"you tiger now") ha!
  • I got ready for Mystere--Cirque du Soleil show while John played blackjack
  • dinner at The Steak House at Treasure Island--yummy!
  • Saw Mystere--hilarious and entertaining, got popcorn dumped on us by performers
  • Sleepy time!
Day Two
  • awakened by drilling above us--changed rooms again
  • before we moved to 3rd room went to Starbucks in casino where employee was rude to me--told hotel manager--upgraded to Executive Suite for half the cost we were paying for basic room--yea baby! (see photos of our room)
  • Hangin' with celebrities at Madame Tusseud's wax museum--plenty of funny photo ops
  • Played $2.50 min. roulette at the Wynn and doubled our money-Lady Luck!
  • Decided not to go to ferrari exhibit since it wasn't free, got military discount for Spamalot instead
  • Shop-o-rama at Fashion show mall--got my GREEN DRESS--money!
  • Saw Spamalot, John got a free goblet of beer--feelin' no pain, laughed hysterically--"I'm not dead yet, I feel fine"
  • Dinner at Isla, Mexican cuisine--not even close to being as good as Texas Mexican food
  • Drinks at Mist bar--$14 dollar cocktails-sheesh!
  • Sleepy time!
Day Three--Our Four Year Anniversary!
  • Breakfast/lunch at the Cheesecake factory at Caesar's Palace--my fave casino
  • Awesome shopping--many stores we could not possibly afford, but fun to window shop--Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Christian Lacroix, Chanel, Dolce and Gabana...we went to Gap!
  • Saw Pete Rose--see photo
  • Watched Animatronic show--kind of like an upgraded Chuck E. Cheese show with robotic Gods/Goddesses (dressed like he-man and she-ra, oddly), fire, water fountains, spotlights--pretty funny
  • returned to Treasure Island for some more time by the pool, John and I sipped on 64 oz pina colada
  • Got ready for dinner at Le Cirque!
  • Saw Dog the Bounty Hunter and his wife at Belagio--John tried to take a picture with his iphone but it came out blurry
  • seated by the window at Le Cirque so we could see the water show at Belagio
  • a little hummingbird landed in the bush outside our window and fell asleep there-he was there for our entire dinner--the cutest freakin thing ever!
  • delicious dinner--complimentary sushi grade salmon with mustard fruit jam appetizer, selection of bread, lobster risotto, mixed green salad with goat cheese, beef tenderloin (yum) with foie gras (blech), Chocolate souffle with vanilla bean ice cream, and assortment of french pastries for dessert--all served by waiters with real French accents--oui oui!! hehe
  • back to the room for sleepy time--caught the end of the sirens and pirates show at our hotel
Day Four--Last day
  • breakfast at Venetian again--Fried chicken and waffles! delish!
  • walked up and down strip (probably walked at least five miles today) and saw various scams going down--the card scam, an old man lying on the sidewalk pretending to be dead scam, college kids trying to score fake ids, men flicking call girl cards at us "Girls direct to you in 20 minutes" I guess it's free if not Ha!
  • Did a little more shopping at Urban Outfitters, did a little more gambling, took a few more photos and it was time to go home
  • Arrived home at about 1:00am
  • Good times but good to be home!
